Review: Clockwork Prince- Cassandra Clare

Rate:
5/5

Goodreads Description:
In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street—and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move—and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, but her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will—the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

Review:
I'm back to book 2!

When I reviewed book 1 I talked about my previous experience with Cassandra Clare and The Mortal Instruments and just how I ended up finally getting my hands on The Infernal Devices

Characters:
Okay so Tessa is starting to get less soft about the family situation but getting more confused about her feelings for Jem and Will and personally, I like her and Jem better and looooorrrrddddd Cookie !
That ONE scene, you know which one im talking about... YEAH that one xD
I was as red as humanly possible xD
THAT is what a scene is supposed to be in those situations! TAKE NOTES E.L.JAMES!

I love Will, I do, I FREAKING LOVE WILL! But personally its hard for me to get over his douchery, sure he had a good reason for which I should be swooning about what he did and stuff but I cant.
Like... I dont know how to properly express myself with that because ... Its Will... Of course  feelings will be complicated.
Towards the end though I just could not help but feel so bad for him, like my heart felt for him, I was getting frustrated because if things had gone they way he wanted them to then I wouldve been even MORE heartbroke but hey, I know the ending so I cant feel too bad.

Jeeeeemmm, I love Jem to the moon and back, my love for Jem will never ever ever cease to be, he is just the best there is and if anyone has anything bad to say about Jem I will cut them.

Overall:
I mean this book was slightly more intense than the last one, the betrayal got to me because of Charlotte and Henry, I never did like that person much but it still got to me.
I also get the feeling that it is not the last one and that we will see more of other characters in the last book.
Recommend it?
YES!

Review:
WE HAVE REACHED ANOTHER END OF ANOTHER SERIES
AND OMG
Be prepared for a lot of GIFs on this post because only they can properly express my emotions
there are just things words can't say
I seriously don't even know where to begin!
Throughout the book I was so frustrated with Tessa for the whole loving Will but being with Jem or being with Will and loving Jem like... PICK
But then I was like, that's exactly what it's like!
Shit went down during this book , however, when it got down to it, it all just happened so fast! I had to reread to make sure it all truly was over xD
Then we got to the after!
Oh okay wait!
So I knew the ending of these characters, I had spoiled it for myself but yet when I got to reading the part about Jem, I was still like
Okay back to the AFTER
I CANT EVEN!
WILL!
WIIIIILLLL
WIIIIILLLLLLLLLLL
I cried! I mean, im sure this is the second book in my life in which I have cried, maybe third
The first one was The Fault in out Stars, I THINK I cried in Marley: A dog like no other, and then of course this one.
I was also having a rough day that day but even if I wasn't, I'm sure I still would've cried xD
but seriously
At the end, I could only feel for Tessa, like.... I can't imagine, I had to keep telling myself that these where fictional characters
People had warned me that this book would break my heart, I didn't believe it, I seriously didn't. I see why people love shadowhunters now, it is because of this world that Cassandra Clare is magical in my eyes, and even though I hate needles and therefor tattoos, I know that one day I will get a rune tattoo, maybe the parabatai with my husband or best friend, I don't know but mark my words, I will

Review:
Lets see I want to have gathered ideas about this book to tell you about it. I dont know if you know this but when I do reviews the only deleting/editing I do is grammar mistakes because that way I can do my full honest opinion of the book and maybe that way you can see why I rate it the way I do. That is just the way I function, I write what comes to my head in the moment.

Friends: So the first person that told me I should really check out the series was my friend Jenny over at http://hellojennyreviews.blogspot.com/ (you can see some of my reviews over there :D) and she was going on a Cassie Clare binge read (still is at this point) and really dug it! And I was like okay, one day. And then another recent friend (@atravelingbook) told me that among all Clare books, The Infernal Devices was her favorite and I was like okaaayyyy maybe ill check it out! And so I went online and found a cheap copy on eBay.
The book arrived like 5 days early, I finished the book I was currently on and got right to it!

Writing: I had read the first 3 books of The Mortal Instruments before, and I had started the 4th but it just didn't feel the same. Anyways so I had liked The Mortal Instruments back in the day, ANOTHER friend had introduced the books to me waaay back when the 4th book had just come out and recently, because of the TV show I wanted to reread them and I just couldn't get into it. The writing had not impressed me anymore. Which is why I hadn't been like super excited to start THIS series. But lo and behold the one was so much better! so like unless you HATED The Mortal Instruments, you SHOULD totally pick up The Infernal Devices.

Cassandra Clare: Before I couldn't understand peoples love for Cassandra Clare, I just couldn't I was like okay? over hyped. Then I read The Infernal Devices and I was like okay I see it now! I can totally see why people love Cassie Clare! I can totally get in on this. And of course I am excited to get my hands on Lady Midnight because I heard the setting is LA so I'm like :D HEY! IM FROM THERE!

Spoiled: About halfway through the book I was like okay is this person going to die!? and So I looked it up and I was like WTF and so I looked up Will, Jems and Tessa's fate and I was like omg okay So I totally spoiled it for myself but I wanted/still do to see how they get to that fate and so on and so forth.

Overall: So overall, I really like it, I'm really glad these 2 girls told me the series was worth checking out and that I actually got the book and read it because overall I really enjoyed it.
It was like eh I don't think I like this book, its average and 2 days later I was like this book is okay, meh, and then I turned the page and it was the last one and I was like
WHAT THE CRAP?! I NEED THE NEXT ONE!
I was closed to it but without fully knowing I was into it! I loved it!
I have yet to find a cheap copy but its okay, imma borrow it and one day, ill buy it xD I actually have the third book on its way, by the time this is up I will have the third book already, thanks to a kind seller on twitter :D

Totally, I do, this is my longest review I have done, what does that tell you?

Review: Beastly By Alex Flinn

Rate:
5/5

Goodreads Description:
I am a beast.

A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.

You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.

Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.

Review:
Its ssssooooo different from the movie. You dont even know. Not going to lie though. I saw the movie, loved it to death and was like,.. I need the book.. Like yesterday! So I bought it within the day and it arrived about 2 weeks later. I started reading that same night and within the first page I was like oh... Okay this is already super different. I continued to read it, I would picture the characters from the movie. It was hard though, since the characters are younger in the book XD But like seriously, it was such a great book. There are many details that are different, but I really liked the whole in depth thoughts that Alex had and just that a lot more time passed in the book than it did in the movie. I love the way Flinn writes, I am just in love with the way Alex writes. I cant even.

Review: A study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro

Rate:
5/5
Goodreads Description:
The last thing Jamie Watson wants is a rugby scholarship to Sherringford, a Connecticut prep school just an hour away from his estranged father. But that’s not the only complication: Sherringford is also home to Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective’s great-great-great-granddaughter, who has inherited not only Sherlock’s genius but also his volatile temperament. From everything Jamie has heard about Charlotte, it seems safer to admire her from afar.

From the moment they meet, there’s a tense energy between them, and they seem more destined to be rivals than anything else. But when a Sherringford student dies under suspicious circumstances, ripped straight from the most terrifying of the Sherlock Holmes stories, Jamie can no longer afford to keep his distance. Jamie and Charlotte are being framed for murder, and only Charlotte can clear their names. But danger is mounting and nowhere is safe—and the only people they can trust are each other.

A Study in Charlotte is the first in a trilogy.

Review:
You all wont believe how incredibly excited I was for this book and I am proud to announce that it did NOT disappoint!
Charlotte Holmes is just as closed as Sherlock would be, and while at first I was like, no teenage girl is like this at all, I had to keep reminding myself that this is meant to be a descendant of THE Sherlock Holmes.
However, Cavallaro did an amazing job in keeping Charlotte like a true descendant but at the same time still gave her teenage type feelings, you know which, those that you say you don't want to do, like go to a dance, but on the inside youre just like I want it all! All the clichés? ALL OF THEM!
Jamie was amazing, sure he has feelings for Charlotte but never in a way that got annoying, it was in a realistic type of way in that he cares for her so much, he is happy just being in the picture at all, not needing more to happen. The moment in which you find out who is behind it all, you will GASP! Because it clicks with you just as it does with the characters!
Made ME feel like I was a genious
That is one of the best things about mystery books, when you figure it all out and youre just like omg I KNOW EVERYTHING!
Recommend it?
YES YES YES YES THIS IS A MUST FOR ALL SHERLOCK FANS! And if you aren't... its time for you to be!
