Review: The Museum of Heartbreak by Meg Leder

Rate:
4/5

Goodreads Description:
In this ode to all the things we gain and lose and gain again, seventeen-year-old Penelope Marx curates her own mini-museum to deal with all the heartbreaks of love, friendship, and growing up.

Welcome to the Museum of Heartbreak.

Well, actually, to Penelope Marx’s personal museum. The one she creates after coming face to face with the devastating, lonely-making butt-kicking phenomenon known as heartbreak.

Heartbreak comes in all forms: There’s Keats, the charmingly handsome new guy who couldn’t be more perfect for her. There’s possibly the worst person in the world, Cherisse, whose mission in life is to make Penelope miserable. There’s Penelope’s increasingly distant best friend Audrey. And then there’s Penelope’s other best friend, the equal-parts-infuriating-and-yet-somehow-amazing Eph, who has been all kinds of confusing lately.

But sometimes the biggest heartbreak of all is learning to let go of that wondrous time before you ever knew things could be broken.

Review:
I was so freaking excited for this book, the description of it reminded me of a book I read a while back, Ten Girls to Watch by Charity Shumway.
Not BECAUSE of the description but rather the whole facing your past, heartbreak and instead of looking at the past sadly, leaning to finally let go and learning to live.
This book isn't technically divided into chapters, but rather pieces of the "museum" like books, drawings, flyers and what happened around that piece which is perfect
Thats how it works, you look at something, like a movie stub or a book and a memory comes back around that
(I cant look at my copy of Romeo and Juliet without remembering my ex because of... well long story and not the point)
The book started a bit slowly for me except for the dinosaurs ! There is a mention of dinosaurs and how we are alike in a way and well
FREAKING
LOVE
DINOSAURS
ANYWAYSSSSSSS
This book took me back in time, it gave me a certain sadness you know, but at the same time, happiness, it just kinda lifts you up a bit. it was deja vu all over this book for me
It's beautiful
For any heartbroken soul out there, this is for you
It's gonna be all right
and as a young man once said
"ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE"

If you have never been heartbroke

FREAKING RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AND DONT LET CUPID GET YOU
BEAT UP THE SUCKER! CUPID DOESN"T KNOW WHAT THE FREAK ITS DOING

Im only partially kidding

Recommend it?
yes, yes i do

Topic Tuesday: Want more of...

Episode 22: Want more of...

Today I will be briefly talking about some series or books that I wished would continue on and bring more, and how I would want more if it
Sure there are more than I mentioned that I need more off but these are just like... Im freaking dying over here

The Lunar Chronicles- Marissa Meyer

I aint ready to let go of Thorne and Cress, Cinder and Kai, Iko, Scarlett and Wolf.. ANY OF THEM!

I need all their weddings and kids and happiness all around!

Harry Potter- J.K. Rowling

I mean.... the script book thats gonna be released just does cut it for me! I need more hogwarts adventures! Maybe Harrys kids or even a small in the life of Harry after marriage! Him asking Ginny for her hand to the Weasleys! something!

Percy Jackson- Rick Riordan

I will not rest until I get a Percabeth wedding and kids. College Percabeth was going to be interesting and I wont rest until I read this from Riordan himself! Fanfiction just doesnt cut it for me

Twilight- Stephanie Meyer

To be honest, I will not rest in peace until I get Midnight Sun, thats all I need to be happy with this

Hunger Games- Suzanne Collins

THIS! So I  know they somewhat announced that they would continue but thats lionsgate, thats not Suzanne Collins, I need some Suzanne Collins Hunger Games, I just wish she would write a couple spin off stand alones like with Snows coming to power, Haymitchs' game, Finnicks Game, maybe Peetas point of view... Which would be epic for Mockingjay, and... well there is a lot of stories that still need to be told! Suzanne, I think I speak on behalf of the fandom... Make this happen please

Plus One- Elizabeth Fama

I need to know what happens right after the ending of this book! This is a stand alone (for now) and when I finished the book I freaked out, like OMG!!!!!!!! No there had to be more, maybe my copy was defective! So i ordered another book and needless to say... it wasnt defective, that WAS the end of the book... SO i gave my extra copy to my then neighbor and got her into the book as well XD
Elizabeth... If youre reading this, its because I have purposebly tagged you on twitter because I want you to read this because I need to have more of Sol and Darcy and its been over a year since I read this book and my birthday is coming up (the 12th) and this is a subtle (NOT) hint at my need for even a small piece of what they do next......

Review: GIrls Like me by Lola St.Vil

Rate:
5/5

Godreads Description:
Fifteen-year-old Shay Summers is trying to cope with the death of her father, being overweight, and threats from a girl bully in schooll.  When she falls in love with Blake, a mysterious boy online, insecure Shay doesn't want to tell him who she is.   But with the help of her two best friends, as well as an assist by Kermit and Miss Piggy, ultimately Shay and Blake’s love prevails.
Girls Like Me is a fun and fresh poetic take on teen angst, social media and online anonymity, and high school romance.

Review:
From the first couple of pages, this book was already my jam,
Shay studies those around her and talks about her bad relationship with her stepmother after her fathers death, shes just kind cruising along life, and I can totally relate to that! except for the step mom thing... Its just mom for me
Shays friends talk her into looking at this website in which a whole bunch of students talk to each other and all these things and in it she starts talking to this guy "GODOT"
Now, I feel like many people have done this, start talking to a stranger on the internet and get along very well and then go through this phase of being extremely nervous when it comes to looking at each other for the first time and its this pit in the stomach of being completely disappointing that the person you're talking to might not be who you thought it was or you disappointing them
I relate to this when with my best friend Angela , shes from Switzerland and the first person I talked to on the internet that I considered my friend. When it came to first seeing each other (pictures) I was scared of this buuuuut it all turned out perfectly okay xD and like I said, she is now my best friend
Anyways, as the book went on it started to pick up a bit more, it went all means girls at one point
No joke, my jaw dropped when it came to what this girl did... actually.. what the whole school did just because they did not approve of Shays relationship with Blake "a.k.a godot a.k.a the guy Shay had been crushing on since forever"
Seconds after I finished the book I wanted to know when the movie would come out
as you read the book, you seriously seeing it as a movie, sure its oddly written but it made it a much easier read, but still packed a punch in story
It is a must read for all teens, specially if you have ever ... actually its just for everyone out there. Anyone can learn something from this book

Recommend it?
YES, as I said, it is a must read for all teens

Topic Tuesday: What do ARCs mean to you

Episode 21: ARCs (Advanced Readers Copies)

This week I shall talk a tad bit of ARCs

For some people, actually, im supposed to talk about what they mean to me and not that they possibly mean to other people and how people treat them... Although many people treat them as a symbol of status which is kinda messed up because any person that loves books is already freaking amazing as heck and automatically important in my life

Anyways, to me it is always so freaking exciting to get an ARC, it is the first look at a new world. Think of your favorite movie series and how freaking exciting it is when you get a sneak preview of the movie or a set picture or even find out the its already in production

Thats kind of the feeling that I get whenever I get an ARC, even an old already published copy that I ahave traded for, because ARCs are different than the finished copies, sometimes they have dialogue or a scene not in the finished copy. Its like an extended cut xD

When I review said ARCs (before the actual release) I feel like I get to share this new world with people and like I am the only one that knows about it, I get to walk around school or anywhere as if I had this secret.

LIKE HANNAH MONTANA

Okay not like that xD

There is just something about it, its like this true first edition that gives you a closer look at the authors original mind, it more of their fluid ideas they had when writting the book.

I honestly get extremely excited with them. After my favorite series, like The Lunar Chronicles, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and such, ARCs are my babies

Review: Grey by E.L. James

Rate:
2/5

Goodreads Description:

See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey.

In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.

Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Review:
The author that created the world wide phenomenon of fifty shades of grey come this outstanding and beautifully written-
oh who the shit am I kidding?!

I wish I could write a positive review and not be a shitty person but where would the world be without honest reviews.

So here is mine....

What the actual shit?
Was I on drugs why did I do this to myself
Well I WAS sick that week so the medication could be to blame
It was worse than the first book , which is saying something, I considered dropping the book ever since page one but I was like noooo dont. But then like halfway through I was like. I cant do this, I just cant. I have 5 brain cells left and I cant kill them on this!!!
The book just kept getting worse and worse for me and it was almost physically painful, I typically get excited every time I turn a page of a book but this time I just got scared to see what was next even though I already knew.

I just kept telling myself that it COULD NOT get worse... BUT IT DID!!!!!
Greys inner monolgues were too annoying, what was he? FIVE? It was too primative when it came to Ana in my opinion
like yes baby oh baby id like to do this and that and woah baby like STAHP PLEASE STOP just... say baby one more time

"BABY"

I did learna bit more about his as a character, I liked the behind the scenes stuff we didnt see in the first book but a lot of it I just wish we didnt have to see the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey.

For those of you celebrating Valentines day weekend with this book
Why?

Recommend it?

Topic Tuesday: Social Media

Episode 20: Social Media

UGH where can I go with this?

I do it, I do it big time...

Maybe too much

Well... no..maybe... What I think is too much is when its completely changing you and youre only focusing on followers or likes like its just a number you need to reach and youre completely ignoring the fact that the people who are retweeting or reblogging on liking all of your stuff is actually real people not robots.. As long as youre not changing yourself to other people will like you and following you. As long as youre not staying home in the dark on social media instead of being out with friends or something you SHOULD be doing...

I have a lot of pages and things I am keeping updated but thats because I have a lot of time that I am not going out with friends. Not BECAUSE im on social media but because everyones schedule is different and we dont have much time to all hang out

What to do I have?

Instagram: I have a few and I will mention them in order from most active to least active

@jenniferlawrence.daily its easy to maintain active with so many wonderful pictures and things about her (daily- about 6 posts a day)

@thejoshutch again,.. hes a babe (daily-about 3 posts a day)

@liamhemsworthdaily HELLO!! hes my husband! (daily-about 2-3 posts a day)

@emmawatson.daily shes freaking perfect in every little thing (daily 2-3 posts a day)

@valesbookshelf I often forget to take pictures of books which is why I dont post often (weekly- I make sure to post at least once a week)

@lol.someone.finally yeeaahhh.. cats (make sure to post once every 6 months)

Blog...

Well here we are... you be the judge of how often I post... I actually write down my reviews on a notebook and then when I have free time at school I go for a couple of hours or at home, and schedule and write a bunch of posts.... Like a BUNCH of posts

Now, there is TUMBLR which I have and use it to find pictures but to be honest I dont do much reblogging or posting at all worth mentioning... Youtube... eh, I sometimes go on youtube and stay there about an hour but some days I dont go on it at all... Twitter- SOMETIMES I remember to post on twitter and I will but not as often as I should

Facebook you ask?

Yeah no I dont have facebook and I dont plan on it either to be honest, I got over facebook a while ago and deleted my account

Review: Red Girl, Blue Boy by Lauren Baratz- Logsted

Rate:
5/5

Goodreads Description:
Enjoy Red Girl, Blue Boy and the other standalone titles in Bloomsbury’s contemporary If Only romance line centered around an impossible problem: you always want what you can’t have!

Sixteen-year-old Katie and Drew really shouldn’t get along. After all, her father is the Republican nominee for President of the United States while his mother is at the top of the Democratic ticket. But when Katie and Drew are thrown together in a joint interview on a morning talk show, they can’t ignore the chemistry between them. With an entire nation tuned into and taking sides in your parents’ fight, and the knowledge that—ultimately—someone has to lose, how can you fall in love with the one person you’re supposed to hate?

This title in the If Only line is a frank and funny romance that shows how sparks fly when opposites attract.

Review:
I loved it!
It's such a fast and fluffy read!
I just finished reading this about 15 minutes ago and im still trying to wrap my head around it properly enough to blurt out my proper feelings besides loving the hell out of it!
I love that its easy to see that it goes with whats going on around us at the time, its modern.
The characters were unique, she was a bit awkward in the cutest and funniest way that I myself had not seen before and he wasnt this moody and dark teen that we sometimes see in romance books, they were REAL. I really liked how you can see Kat's change by the end of the books, her transformation from a shut down teen that is simply focusing on her dad winning presidency into a teen that notices that the things life has to offer a kid her age is pretty great and that its okay to want something for yourself.

Recommend it?
Yes

Topic Tuesday: OTPs (One True Pairs)

Episode 19: OTPs

Okay so this week I will talk about what it is, which ones are my OTPs and if you can have more than one and still call them OTP

Okay so what IS OTP

UrbanDictionary.com will tell you the following: "One True Pairing. Meaning the your favorite combination of characters in a fandom."

Its who you want together forever and ever till the ends of eternity. The ones youre dying for them to get married and have kids and live happily ever after

You fangirl when you see them together and die when they have a cute moment

You ship the hell out of them. (Ship is short for relationship)

So who are MY OTPs?

Well I should firstly talk about if you can have more than one

Yes who the hell cares, this now gives you more than one chance to be happy... then again I guess it gives you more chances to be disappointed >.> But thats looking at the glass half full, lets look at it half empty xD

MY OTPs are the following

Ron and Hermione (Harry Potter) I mean come on! Their banter throughout the books, depending on who you are is adorable as hell !

Hermione and Harry (Harry Potter) This is why I have issues, I kinda wanted them to be together... Well now that I think about it I guess I just wanted her to be with someone and be in love, since it would be something she cant really learn by reading I guess thats why I wanted that for her

Katniss and Peeta (The Hunger Games) After EVERYTHING they went through together, they HAD to be together, the world would have ended other wise, not going to lie though , for a while I wanted her to be with Gale but then I realize thats just because it was Liam Hemsworth xD because before they got casted it was Peeta forever...

Cal and Mare (Red Queen) This is just... it was hard for me because you are let known that you cant trust anyone, but there is something about them that makes me ship them, they are both peas from the same pod in certain characteristics

Percy and Annabeth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus) I mean, I dont even  ... I can't explain something that is just mean to be! Like peanut butter and jelly

Thorne and Cress (The Lunar Chronicles) LIKE CAN WE JUST ... like... PLEASE! I can't these two are my whole life, I love everything about TLC but these two are my biggest OTP!

Imma stop with the OTPs, Those are like the major OTPs for major series I have read
I wont even get into real life people OTP because those hurt u.u all of them already have other people and stuff and just... ugh no and then SHOWS OTP .. like.. these things just go on and on

Who are YOUR OTPs
